Putting Greens
Synthetic golf greens are the ideal alternative to natural grass. The new synthetic golf greens are NOT putt-putt, astro-turf or carpet over concrete. They have a natural look, roll, and ball bounce, similar to a golf course green. The ball speed can be varied by simply adding or removing sand. And with water shortages on the rise, many cities are offering cash credits to homeowners who don't have lawns.
Recent advancements in synthetic turf appearance and performance may tempt more people to install a synthetic putting green in their backyard. Maintaining a natural golf greens is more work and expense than you can imagine. Just ask any golf course grounds keeper!
A 1 Earth synthetic green looks so real when you kneel down and inspect one closely. It's actually synthetic fibers with silica sand and a specially formulated top dressing spread over the top. Just like good imitation leather, it looks so real you have to touch it to be sure. ProGreen Turf can also be used for miniature golf courses, primary golf course greens, dog runs, play grounds, driving mats (that accept tee’s), and for croquet playing surfaces.

How is a ProGreen golf green installed? The area where it will be installed is cleared and a base material of finely crushed rock is laid down and contoured to the owner’s preference. The turf is then rolled over the top. A specially formulated silica sand, rubber and MultiFlex is spread over the top of the turf and brushed into the 3/4" long fibers until only 1/8" of fiber remains showing. Finally, a green top dressing is spread on top of that. The combination of silica sand and top dressing anchors the turf firmly in place and provides a true ball bounce and roll.
